New weird issue I've run into with #Librewolf on #postmarketOS / #AlpineLinux - the latest version in the Alpine repository doesn't want to play any videos. I've tried on both YouTube and several Peertube instances and videos just sit at an endless spinner. Audio works fine, playing music from my Subsonic server works no problem. I installed the #Flatpak version and symlinked my profile directories, it plays video just fine using the same profile.

I have to reference #gitlab merge request and issue numbers a lot while doing dev stuff for #postmarketOS and #alpinelinux (like for giving to our mrtest tool), so I made a simple bookmarklet that will copy this number to my clipboard:

#SpicyPillows have been replaced! Battery life has drastically improved on the #AlpineLinux #Macbook Pro 15.

I submitted a merge request to #AlpineLinux aports to get #TouchpadEmulator added. This program allows touchscreen devices to control a mouse cursor for easier use with desktop-oriented user interfaces. Merge request here:

Testers on #postmarketOS welcome, you can test with:

sudo mrtest add -a 82061

also add yourself to input group to avoid the password prompt. You can also set it to autostart with LaunchTouchpadEmulator.sh --autostart

Heads up, icu-76 has been pushed to edge. The builders will be busy for a while rebuilding all dependencies, and there appear to be some build failures.

The community repository is broken at the moment until the builders finish rebuilding affected packages and upload it.

I think there are some parallels between this and #Debian's .deb files, even in the naming of the subdivisions "control" and "data," but I never really delved much into either topic.

Also: fitting an entire repository in 40GB of space? Amazing what a minimalist distribution can be!

I DID IT! I got my first #Linux love, #AlpineLinux, up and running on the 2015 #Macbook pro!

I was able to get wifi and bluetooth to work correctly. Flatpak is installed. Life is good; today has been a good day.

Just found out #LibreWolf is packaged in #AlpineLinux now! This includes #postmarketOS! I just migrated from the Flatpak version by copying the contents of

.var/app/io.gitlab.librewolf-community/.librewolf to .librewolf

and

.var/app/io.gitlab.librewolf-community/config/librewolf to .config/librewolf

then going into about:profiles in native LibreWolf and selecting the correct profile. Also turned on media.webrtc.camera.allow-pipewire in about:config and now cameras work on #OnePlus 6T!
