@itsfoss Linux Mint - and not because of any deficiency on its part. LM is a really great X11 based distro. I wanted GNOME, and to sink my teeth into Wayland.

I'm not that technical (despite being interested) mainly because my energy has been directed elsewhere for various reasons. So it's really cool when I can learn basic #Linux commands like rename!
Turns out there are two different commands called rename. I tried to use the syntax for the util-linux command at first, but apparently I already had the Perl one installed. Once I figured that out, it was a piece of cake to rename a few dozen files. Very neat. #LinuxMint
alright - one more #MonsterHunterWilds on #linuxMint update for today. I just tried switching to Proton Experimental for the first time since release day, and on Medium settings I just played through an entire High Rank multiplayer mission with no mesh explosions, terrain glitches, or freezes for the first time! I hope that trend lasts.
So with Apple running out of ideas, it must be time for a new coat of paint.
Before Apple makes more simple things complicated, maybe its time to try out one of the many Open Source Android projects, or maybe try out a Linux distro on a spare PC.

Versuch mal #LinuxMint als live usb stick. So hab ich auch begonnen vor ein paar Jahre und würde nun nie mehr zurück.
Wenn du auf sicher gehen willst kannst du die dual boot Variante wähle....

After over a year since our move to Greece, we finally found back one of our laptops. This is a DELL Vostro V130, from 2010. The internal drive & the battery don't work anymore even if I replaced both 2 yrs ago (battery died again, while the hdd controller was actually dead).I was able to install Linux Mint 22.1 on an external USB stick, in BIOS mode. It works great. No reason to throw it away and create e-waste! It works just fine enough!
Windows shuts down apps. Linux terminates them.
Decided to *try* to install #linuxmint on my laptop to replace windows 10. I've hit a wall and I need #help.
