casey is remote<p>Now, I&#39;m still going to manually tone map all my <a href="https://social.freetalklive.com/tags/4K" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>4K</span></a> <a href="https://social.freetalklive.com/tags/HDR10" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>HDR10</span></a> content back to <a href="https://social.freetalklive.com/tags/SDR" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>SDR</span></a>, it&#39;s probably best for compatibility&#39;s sake that I not have files in <a href="https://social.freetalklive.com/tags/HDR" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>HDR</span></a> in case I do something like try to play the files locally on something that doesn&#39;t support the tone mapping, or switch to <a href="https://social.freetalklive.com/tags/Jellyfin" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Jellyfin</span></a> or something</p>
realcaseyrollins ✝️<p>BTW I’m curious to see if this strips the <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.teci.world/tag/hdr10" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#HDR10</a> metadata from the <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.teci.world/tag/mp4" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#MP4</a> file</p><p>If not, this could make the files look pretty bad on <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.teci.world/tag/plex" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#PLEX</a> clients that do support <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.teci.world/tag/hdr" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#HDR</a>.</p>
casey is remote<p>Is <a href="https://social.freetalklive.com/tags/HDR" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>HDR</span></a> worth it? I have <a href="https://social.freetalklive.com/tags/4K" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>4K</span></a> <a href="https://social.freetalklive.com/tags/HDR10" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>HDR10</span></a> movies but as I&#39;m ripping them, I&#39;m noticing that <a href="https://social.freetalklive.com/tags/PLEX" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>PLEX</span></a> doesn&#39;t seem to properly supporting <a href="https://social.freetalklive.com/tags/HDR10" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>HDR10</span></a> on <a href="https://social.freetalklive.com/tags/Roku" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Roku</span></a>, so on all of the family TVs, the colors get washed out and look just plain weird.</p><p>But, <a href="https://social.freetalklive.com/tags/Handbrake" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Handbrake</span></a> has filters so I can strip out the <a href="https://social.freetalklive.com/tags/HDR" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>HDR</span></a> and convert the colors back down to <a href="https://social.freetalklive.com/tags/SDR" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>SDR</span></a>. I&#39;m thinking that might be the way to go.</p>
