I don't agree. The left has been accusing the far right of things that have always been far left.
For example, the nazis were always far left.
As the left moves further left, they move closer to what they accuse the right of, but the are not moving to the right.

When you look at "moderate" left wing vs right wing, the left favors socialism and more government control in our lives, while the right favors free market capitalism and less government control in our lives. Following those lines, the extreme left would trend towards communism and authoritarianism, while the extreme right would trend towards anarchy.
