I still find #Twitter an odd choice for #TuckerCarlson to choose to house his #TuckerCarlsonTonight successor except for the money involved
@realcaseyrollins
Why is that?
@jlcrawf The main front is that #Twitter just isn't the type of platform that's natively designed to platform such a show.
It is well-designed for clips of content to go viral though, so maybe that's where #TuckerCarlson's head is at?
@realcaseyrollins
I think that he is looking at Matt Walsh doing the same thing and talking to Elon who wants twitter to move that direction.
@jlcrawf Oh wow...I don't follow #TheDailyWire so I didn't know that #MattWalsh did this.
Welp, there isn't even a comments section, so this objectively sucks imho
@realcaseyrollins it may be the main alternative due to his contract…or other even far right news groups told him no. In theory he could get a massive audience there….but he’s somewhat parachuting onto the Twitanic as Musk steers towards the ice.
@ppb1701 I actually suspect that #TuckerCarlson could potentially save #Twitter, at least from a MAU standpoint, if people tune in consistently to watch his show. After all, there are plenty of places that offer freer speech than #Twitter right now: the #Fediverse, #nostr, #Bluesky, not to mention #GETTR, #Gab, #TruthSocial and others (mostly because their claims to free speech tend to be dubious at best). By bringing the successor to #TuckerCarlsonTonight to #Twitter, #ElonMusk might retain more right wing users.
My point really is that while #TuckerCarlson bringing his show to #Twitter brings tons of value to #Twitter, I don't see how it brings value to #TuckerCarlson at all, especially when they don't have the type of infrastructure to handle his type of show AFAIK. #Rumble is built for this type of this; #Twitter is not.
@realcaseyrollins On infrastructure….I imagine it’ll crash it and take twitter down….assuming his audience largely shows. Like him or not, he did have a popular show on Fox News. Probably be like TWD or GoT premiere/finales airing taking their network streaming service to the ir knees on overloaded users.
@ppb1701 Someone brought this to my attention, apparently #MattWalsh did the same thing

I didn't hear about it, so I assume there were issues. Granted, I'm expecting #TuckerCarlson's #Twitter show to net at least ten times #MattWalsh's audiences though, so we'll see.
I'm not sure if #Twitter is using their #Periscope backend for their Broadcasts feature, but I assume that they are. If so, that should isolate any issues they have to just the Broadcasts feature and not affect the rest of the service (similar to how #TruthSocial hosts their videos with #Rumble, so they handle all strain and not #TruthSocial itself).
