Diversity (of any sort) is our misfortune.
For me personally it's the obesity.
To be fair, both seem to be pretty typical in public schools, which are staffed by perpetually single but dating women, most of whom are big fluffy alcoholic disasters.

On some level, they know that the public schooling mission is doomed to failure.
To them, their participation is about a career and an excuse for their meaningless lives to be important.

They can basically show up, ramble on about whatever all day, and then go home with fat benefits. In Texas their starting salary is nearly $60k.
What creates this situation really however is that the students are low-IQ. No matter what the teachers do, scores are not going up or down. There is literally no way to gauge teacher performance.
